Frank Keller
SVP, GM Merchant & Payments, PayPal
As the head of PayPal’s Merchant and Payment Platform segment, Frank leads this core business unit focused on large and mid-sized merchants that use PayPal’s services to grow their business. His teams are responsible for the P&L, strategy, and execution of the following product lines: Checkout, Payment Processing with Braintree and PPCP, Payouts / Hyperwallet, Post Purchase (Happy Returns, Package Tracking) and Growth Markets (Japan, Mexico, Brazil, and product delivery for China). His teams also oversee the product strategy of key enabling platforms incl. Payments, Pricing, FX and they drive strategic programs like transaction expense optimization.
In his role, Frank is also responsible for creating alignment across teams supporting the merchant business and branded checkout, to drive growth by helping merchants and consumers to benefit from PayPal’s two-sided network.
Frank’s tenure and varied roles with PayPal enable him to understand the business holistically to find business efficiencies and to empower his teams to execute with focus and velocity while keeping customer needs front and center. Frank has held a number of international positions at PayPal, including Vice President of Europe, Global Inside Sales and Global Sales Operations while he was also leading the transformation of PayPal’s global sales organization. Frank also served as global head of PayPal’s consumer segment and General Manager of PayPal Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DEATCH), PayPal’s third largest market.
Frank joined PayPal in 2011 as Head of Strategy and Business operations in DEATCH and was responsible for leading and fully integrating BillSAFE, a German pay later service provider that PayPal acquired in the same year.
Prior to joining PayPal, Frank founded and managed two Berlin-based startup IT companies and worked for a telecommunications company in Malaysia.
Frank has a doctorate degree in Software Engineering from the Hasso Plattner Institute, which offers the highest-ranking computer science program in Germany.
